England, Greater than 'Britain'.

Not when I last looked at a map. England. Part of Great Britain. You may want to look up the Act of Union 1707?

Ahhhh your getting "Geography" mixed up with a one time Political Union of nations.

Sack the "Union" Jack.

England needs the "British Union" for nothing.

You may want to look up the year 1998 when the Scots voted yes for their own Parliament, effectivley making the so called "British Union" null and void.

1707-1998 British "Union"
Wasn't a bad run was it!.

871-2009? England - The worlds first nation state

No longer entitiled to its own Parliament, instead to be balkanised out of existence by the British government for their EU masters?

At all the Anons. Feel free to continue commenting, but when you do, please tick the 'other' box and put a moniker of some sort in so I can tell who is who? Pet hate on all blogs, I don't care who you are, I just want to tell you apart.

At anon2, we have a seat on the Security Council, influence in the world, the Commonwealth, etc. We also get North Sea Oil revenue, as well as gas revenue, which is pretty substantially more than 'nothing'.

Feel free to argue it's not enough, but saying it's worth nothing is to be as obtuse as the idiot Charlie.

At anon3 (you see how annoying this is?). The glorified county council in Holyrood doesn't deserve the name Parliament. In addition, it can be overruled by the Privy Council at any point by Order in Council, and any legislation passed in Westminster can be applied, retroactively to Scotland, which means it has no sovereignty whatsoever.

As for the windmills of the EU conspiracy? Irrelevent and nothing to do with it, the EU doesn't care about internal divisions within a state, it merely needs to know where they are.

Spain, Germany, France, Canada, India, Australia; hardly 'balkanised'. Get your facts straight, put a name to your comments, learn to debate.
